server online / offline status
 

I've noticed that my site is not online right now. There must be some problems with the hosting server. It is the first time I notice this but I am ot sure if it happened before.
Is there a way to find out if it happened before? Are there any tools for monitoring the servers/hosting?

take a look at /var/log/messages (and messages.1 , messages.2 etc) .. or /var/log/syslog ..

thats if he has root access... and even, depending on the cause it might not show up.


get monitoring on your webpage.

IE: www.alertra.com - you'll need to monitor your port 80 since it sounds like youre on virtual hosting.
