It took me at least 5 hours to get these things out! Just got back from Ixtapa though and I'm thinkIing I wanna get these things done regularly.... no worries no fuss...

I really don't know what my point is... just got done uploading a shitload of pics and had one too many beers....

Anyone know how to make the neighbors wireless connection disabled on my linksys? It took me literally at least an hour to upload some pics that would usually take me 2 minutes. My box and theirs are fighting for conneciton...

Not 100% sure on this, but if either of you set up WEP (password encryped) then this should solve the problem, since you won't be able to associate a card with the access point if the passwords don't match.

You do realise that without WEP anyone can 'sniff' your internet traffic and see what goes between your laptop and the rest of the net? Even with WEP enabled it is crackable with a bit of effort...

The reason why he said it's not a good idea. The 64 bit and the 128 bit hex will reduce the signal running though your network.


My :2 cents: Enable WEP and have it running on 64bit hex

Make your password 10 chrs long with Numbers and letters

IT WILL all be in hex => 3b3a0f ect

They weren't tight at all.. they felt pretty good. Amazing it costed 20 bucks and it took the lady like 25 minutes to whip 'em out... I used to be a hairdresser and it would have taken me 6 hours and costed 200 bucks at least... But getting them out.. eesh.. the 100 hairs you naturally lose daily were coming out by the handfuls because I had them all stuck there for a week...

When I did it before, the software made a password for me and it was long and brutal like that one.. I'll ask him about that cuz it can't be very secure when I can see their connection name as "heather" their daughter... Everytime I see her pull up in her car at the end of the night I know I'm about to get fucked with my connection.

Random thought: Hidden cameras and telescopes are out, wifi sniffing is in... how many people out there have a laptop webcam and unprotected wifi? It could be a voyeurs wet dream if he has a sexy girl living next door that likes to have late night webcam chats with her boyfriend. :helpme

Hey RRRED, make sure you upgrade the system firmware too. That will help, and you should turn off the system SID broadcast option too. thats how the freeloading neighbour found your conection. do enable wep with 128 bit, it wont slow you down one bit.

Oh god you scared me... but I just remembered my issue the other night... actually I think it's me that's getting THEIR connection.. It sucks because I can't bring my laptop to bed because my bedroom is the only room close to their house...
