I just had to reply to this. The whole airport security issue is one big joke, believe me. I'll tell you how it works for real. Let's say you departure a big airport (jfk for example) and are outbound to Punta Cana (Dom. Republic) or Lome (Africa) wich are pretty small airports. You get a fairly tightened security check at jfk, some of us have to put our hands up to the wall from time to time so we feel safe. Nothing that shouldn't be on the aircraft really isn't on the aircraft. Now, after a nice two week vacation we are about to departure back to jfk, home sweet home. We are in Punta Cana or Lome or whatever small airport and guess what......... no check whatsoever, just give them your lugagge, wait an hour in the hall, go to the aircraft inbetween all other aircrafts waiting at the airport, nobody looks at you, you can even crawl up into an engine to take a nice cool picture. Do you think they bothered to check your luggage upthere? Right, NO. Do you think they have a metal detector upthere? Right, NO. Put a dollar in your passport and there you go, you are inbound for jfk, no security check at all. THERE is the danger.
If the governement wants to tighten airport security they should make it global, NOT local.
