So I got in a car accident last night...

I was driving home from the airport last night when a car changed lanes without checking their blind spot.. I slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting them which caused my car to skid, I tried to correct the skid but overdid it and the car started a spin.. I slammed into the wall with the front of the car, spun around and hit the back of the car at which point I came to a stop on the shoulder.. not one person stopped to assist me.. here's some pics, enjoy!

EDIT: I came away from the wreck without any major injuries, my neck is sore and my arm is killing me, gonna go to the doctors today and have them take xrays to make sure I don't have any fractures anywhere.. scary experience!

Nope, they drove off, I never hit them so I have no proof or witnesses, looks like I get to pay for all the damage through my insurance.. yay!!

NoCarrier 07-22-2004 11:06 AM

Did the airbag break the windshield?

BradM 07-22-2004 11:13 AM

Hey man, I was in a similar wreck style. I overcorrected my steering but I ended up hitting a merridian and rolling my jeep end over end a few times.

Get some percocet..... TRUST Me. :)

This will go against your insurance and regardless what lead up to this you will be at fault. If you had let the fucker slam into the side of you then HE would have been at fault and it wouldnt have been so bad when it comes to insurance!

I would have let the fucker sideswipe me :thumbsup

TaDoW 07-22-2004 11:19 AM

Do they still make parts for those things? ANd I thought only women drove those... Still glad to hear your OK:thumbsup

airbags do there job like 20% of the time

Most of the time the airbags end up burning a persons face half off or exploding in ther eface

airbags BURN people badly

sure they stop you from hitting the dash but I rather have a broken nose rather than my whole face scared up the rest of my life

but anyways

J was this at the seattle airport????

LadyMischief 07-22-2004 11:38 AM

Sorry to hear about that man.. hope you're ok! :)

Lucy 07-22-2004 11:40 AM

How do you know this? I've never heard of burns - just broken arms, wrists, and ribs

BradM 07-22-2004 11:42 AM

Yeah I also hear people get liver damage and can DROWN when hit by an airbag.

LOL Chris I think you've been studying the wrong articles.

did you guys have a courduroy airbag or something?

WiredGuy 07-22-2004 11:46 AM

Glad to know you're alright. I had a similiar experience, someone cut me off, braked too hard in the snow and totally spun out and ended up slamming into the median. During a blizzard, not a single person stopped, people are heartless. Walked out fine and was actually very shocked to see the car had very minor damage.

Chris 07-22-2004 11:46 AM

Chemical Burns
Most airbag systems use an inflator which, when operating properly, generates a harmless gas to fill the bag. The bag contains vent holes, which allow the gas to escape from the bag.
The chemical propellant used to generate gas in an airbag module is similar to rocket fuel. As fuel and oxidized burn, small bits of reacting propellant may blow into the bag and be expelled from the vents.

Occupants have reported severe chemical burns on the face, neck and arms following airbag deployment. This occurs as a result of inadequate filtering of propellant as it leaves the gas generator module.

i dont know what the fuck that is ?

read all the shit im posting
almost 90% of the time that an airbag is released it BURNS the person it hits

The skin on the forearms, thighs, chest, neck and face is vulnerable to airbag induced burns and abrasions. The degree of these injuries is established based on the depth of injury from the outer epidermis layer to the underlying subcutaneous tissues. Currently, surrogate skin materials are being developed for use in airbag development research. In addition, advanced injury evaluation techniques are being developed to assist manufacturers and suppliers in the design of the airbag material and construction. These techniques, combined with the surrogate skin material, will allow for injury evaluation of new airbag designs.

SleazyDream 07-22-2004 11:49 AM

sorry

Firehorse 07-22-2004 11:52 AM

That sucks that no one stopped to see if you were ok, and it's good that you didn't get seriously injured!

coolfuck 07-22-2004 11:53 AM

Plan9 07-22-2004 11:53 AM

Damn bro...that looks like a bad accident. Glad to see you're ok though. I'm just getting over the injuries from my wreck like a month and a half ago...hopefully yours aren't nearly as bad.

Darn, the worst part is that you did nothing wrong and that the fucktard who cut you off will probably cut off other people and cause more accidents :(
