From Google to Yahoo!

Today I changed my starting page from Google to Yahoo! after like 2/3 years having Google. I want to learn more about it, they are working hard over there :)

Who is receiving more traffic from Yahoo! than Google ?

Study Yahoo well. It's a goldmine of newb traffic :2 cents:

Since half a year ago I've more SE traffic from Yahoo than Google

Manowar 07-22-2004 03:55 AM

Yahoo has some of the best traffic, if you get your keywords right

What do you think about this Yahoo vs. Google race?

Who will finally win?.. I'm seeing that Yahoo is waking up and working too hard on their service as Benja said.

Interest thread!.

I have about 1400 a day to one of my tgps from yahoo - Looks like they are rising quickly out of the shadows!

Would you be OK to give the URL and the keywords you got a good position ? :)
1400 is nice traffic already.

Yahoo will win. Given the depth and extent of its user-generated content, it will win any short-term revenue contest with Google.

However, Google has such a massive following it is positioned to replicate Yahoo's content diversification strategies.:2 cents:

I also notice I get more traffic from yahoo then google, even though I always optimize for google.

anyone has any good "yahoo optimization" resources?

www.stockingsandhighheels4u.com

The site gets about 5-600 from google, to.

To be honest, I do not know how it is gettting any se traffic at this moment as we haven't optimized it yet!

Another site, pantyfetish4u.com is #1 for a few keywords - panty fetish, etc. That is optimized in a way that was good for google 4/5 years ago - Maybe yahoo is using a log based on googla at that time? Just a guess.

Edit - I am looking for trades with the stocking tgp - Hard link only- No blind traffic whatsoever.

you should be happy with the switch

johnbosh 07-22-2004 05:01 AM

yahoo sents some nice traffic yes:D

Google has been completely useless for adult traffic since the big shake-up almost two years ago. Unless you have one of the top link lists in the biz, forget about getting any substancial amount of traffic. Yahoo, on the other hand, is awesome. How long will it last though?

nastyking 07-22-2004 01:45 PM

google is clean, yahoo is an ugly overloaded portal ... that's why google will always win in the search engine market :2 cents:

Doctor Dre 07-22-2004 01:46 PM

Yahoo will win ... google gets spammed WAY too much

junction 07-22-2004 02:00 PM

Yahoo is my best friend :Graucho

Google still gets way more traffic than Yahoo for same kws but Yahho traffic converts better in my experience.Probably because it has a higher % of US traffic.:2 cents:

I have a brand new mainstream site which has been indexed by both google and yahoo. So far, I'm getting #5 for several of my targetted search terms on yahoo. Doesn't look like I'm getting any traffic from Google yet. Besides that, I've noticed Yahoo's search results are starting to look better than Googles. I won't be buying any Google stock.

Google is doing things to make their search engine worse. They think they are improving it, but they are not.

bdld 07-22-2004 03:43 PM

i'd have my money on yahoo for the long run.

Benja 07-23-2004 01:43 AM

Hehe looks like I should have done a poll. It's 50/50.

Right now I receive much more traffic from Google.

I'm working principally with french and spanish traffic, and both yahoo.fr and yahoo.es are using only web sites of its directory as results, which means it's very difficult to get listed and the only traffic I get is from Yahoo.com, Yahoo Argentina, Mexico, etc...

I hope they'll integrate crawled content in their results for the FR and ES version...

Yahoo will become bigger and powerful than google on 2005.. I'.ve seen an increase of traffic coming from them and I've read in some places about them and future looks good in that way.
