whats scarier is you or I can buy citizenship in some countries in central america for $800 and board a plane bound for the US through airports with far less security.:(

I do feel better that they put the security doors on the cockpits in most airlines.

you're so nice. Ever wonder how columbians end up in the US? ask anyone who has lived in panama or costa rica. For 800 you can get a faked marriage and legal citizenship in these countries.

anyways, ill get back to being an idiot:)

Fletch XXX 07-21-2004 11:36 PM

people who think borders are tight are ignorant, ports are only secure when drug shipments arent coming in.

any terrorist can enter the United States via Mexico and you can do it with a fucking fake ID.

enter through Oaxaca, bus it to TJ, and enter California with a fake ID.

people who feel secure make me laugh.

But what if you're already in the cockpit.. or on the crew.. or wanding security at the airport gate.. or booking your ticket.. or ...??

Borders cannot protect us from those that live down the street or next door, can they?

No. That is my point. Everyone is a suspect, if you must suspect everyone that is.

[edit] that is what they want.

frankthetank 07-21-2004 11:53 PM

I agree. Its the same risk as flying in an alluminum tube with 1000's of moving parts. There are so many variables. Most change in the airline industry is brought through tragedy.

I am more concerned about our open borders then I am boarding a plane. I am amazed we havent been struck again.

I was able to go to the passport office about two months ago and get my partners passport due to a travel emergency. They thought I was him. We look nothing alike really. Thats scary.

Really? Weird. I had to show ID to pick up my passport. But I guess it's different for an emergency.

main chicago office in the federal building ironically. He drove down and there was a prob with the printer and had to be back at his office 4 hours away 1 day before we left the US. So, I went down there next day with the intention of explaining the issue, I had his birth certificate. They didnt ask me any questions and just told me to wait. They called his name, gave me his passport, and I left. Crazy really.

Yeah, right. On the way to the Vegas InterNext in Jan, one of my guys forgot to take off his knife before getting to the security checkpoint. He just dropped it into the change basket and sent it through the scanner with a laptop on top of it. They never said a word, so he just put it back in his pocket and boarded the plane.

My wife (well g/f at that time) picked up my passport at that same office. No emergency or anything -- she was just going to be in the area of the Federal Building.
