I've been asking about CCBill's 900 billing for months, but no one seems to know anything about it, or they're not willing to share:( Anyone??

what about it?

wiggitywack 07-21-2004 12:41 PM

I was gonna use them for 900 but read their terms and found them kind of misleading / unclear.

They said something like they take 20% as a fee after they get paid by their Telco. But they dont say whether or not the Telco takes their piece before they pay CCbill which is what might be the case - and then after that CCbill takes 20%?

I am just wondering what I will NET per call if they are so many hands on the cash before I get paid. So tell me what are webmasters averaging per call on the $34.95 per call tarriff?
any payment history here?

just charge 34.95 for a membership via phone billing but still pay your affiliates 15 per sale on it. After the fees it works out close.

so you are saying I should net $15 on a $34.95 transaction?
thats less than half of the charge to the surfer, so that seems a little low.

and affiliates should be paid $15 per call - so that leaves with with zero?

just seeing what to expect here

I'm pretty sure CCBill states how much you would get paid on your sale. For example, if you charged $34.95 you'd probably get around $25, but I'm sure it says right on the site.

However, the bigger problem is that you only get paid on sales that the telephone company pays back to CCBill. So if the customer doesn't pay their bill, or if the phone company doesn't pay CCBill or something, you don't get paid! And since it's such a big delay in payment anyway, that means your customer would get full access to your site the entire time (unlike online checks where they get cut off when their check bounces).

So I'm hoping someone can tell me I'm wrong about this, or that the percentage of non-payments is low, but I doubt it:(

hopefully soon, its really mounting up how much we are waiting for :-|
