Fact: your domains cannot be 'appraised' - they are worthless !
 

There are domains with obvious 7 figures value like weather.com, stockmarket.com, travel.com, hotels.com

There are domains that also can be sold for 6-7 figures like men.com. Those names are very good, but for the people who have a strong business idea and solid financial backing they can be extremely good and this adds value to them.

And there are also f.e domains that are sold because of their type in traffic. In adult those would be f.e sexyteens.com or hotpussy.com or nakedbabes.com etc. These would all be sold for 4- 5 figures.

But adult domains like hotredheadchicks.com or nudelatinagirls.com or blackbootyporno.com are rather worthless, unless someone is desperate to start a new paysite or TGP in that particular niche.

This should be made clear to all people who try to sell their domains here.

They're only worth what someone is willing to pay, that's the only appraisal there is.

I just let domains expire if I dont want them anymore. Most of em suck, lol. Let one expire a month or so ago in fact.

For the most part, I do not believe in this heavily regurgitated statement. Uttered weekly on several webmaster forums. From mainstream to adult. Technically? Yes, it is true, however it is true because it is a play on words. Anything for sale, domain or home, is worth what "someone will pay for it". HOWEVER, it's the market/scarcity/amongst other factors that determine a "market value". Your statement is only true shitty domains. However for reasonable domains, as polish mentioned - They do have foreseen values, regardless of what someone will "pay for them".

Tis' the reason I can show another domain speculator one of my domains and he says - "Worth $50,000" . Ask another speculator he'll say "Worth $40,000". Another speculator "Worth $55,000".

All prices are within the same region. Coincidence? Of course not.

I figure that when someone out of the blue writes or calls you asking if your domain is for sale, that it's worth something.

If anyone 20 years ago said that they could make money selling "words" all around the world not many people would believe them.

In this instance, unless a premium domain, it is only worth something to that person. Lose that lead by inflating it's asking price, and you will not have another buyer. Thus, making the domain worthless. Buy a piece of shit domain, and hoping to resell for $1000 - Is a game of pure luck, happenstance if you will.

The value of domains and the value of real estate are so similar. A domain like sex.com is the equivalent of owning land in Times Square, but a domain like sexyasianslutwhores.com is the equivalent of owning land out in the desert.

I got 1 or 2 that I like, someone contacted me on one. wanted 2 buy it, wanted me to get it apprased, I told him no I wanted X amount for it. I told them I don't care what it would appraise for, it's what I want that matters. If I don't get what I want then it can just set there
