Can you submit to The Hun from a domain with 'masked whois' ?

I heard once The Hun didnt accept a gallery from someone who had a whois privacy feature for his domain.
Not sure if he does it always or only with new submitters, who havent submitted and been listed before.

Anyone had similar problem?

Or maybe Michel is reading this thread and can answer this :Graucho

good script detects the nameserver wich your site is using. Dont know how this works with masked domains.

how about masked whois service from Name Cheap or Registerfly?

Fabuleux 07-21-2004 06:48 AM

Interesting, I'm using whois protection and I'm never listed. Not that I'm submitting that much to him, but it could be the problem.

i expect a reply to this thread, would be good for all people to know about this for sure.
Especially since there's no correlation between being a cheater and using whois protection.
Cheaters would rather use completely fake whois info and not purchase a 'whois privacy' feature.

BUMP

I got an email once from him that my gallery got accepted but it won't get listed since I've used domains by proxy. So I can at least confirm that. :(

Would be great if he could change his mind about this rule.

What do you have to hide?

PO box, or outdated old address/number should be suffient.

Only thing important, at least to me, is my email address and name. Email allows me to retrieve reknewal/transfer updates, etc. And the name/company registrant validates I am in fact the owner. Everything else is just specifics, and not always necessary for people to know. :2 cents:

My name, home address, and phone number are right in my who is records.

Had 1 phone call in 4 or 5 years. And a couple of letters from scammer domain renewal companies who should know better.

Why would you list your home info? I sure don't.

hahaha, I got dozens of those DomainNetworkUSA renewal notices (or whoever they were). I think the BBB shut them down. Then they started another company and did the same thing...

i know some people who submit to you from domains with fake whois.
I wont expose them here, because i consider them "friends" are they are honest anyway.
I was just asking if there's a problem when someone who has been already submitting for some time and been ocassionally listed, starts submitting now from a domain with a masked whois.... :)

Seems like a strange thing to do. It hurts honest webmasters who have opted for privacy for one reason or another, and it does not prevent scammers 'cause they can simply use fake WHOIS info. :2 cents:

He does not list questionable CP and it figures they want to know who they are dealing with. Scammers tend to just get new domains and try again. This way they can catch at least a percentage of the scammers.
It may sound a little unfair to the people that lean heavily on the privacy but they should understand seeing the amount of scammers out there....
