Marc sold an advertisment to a customer that insisted on an i-frame. I've never felt worse. The customer put an exploit in the i-frame.

Who knows this guy? We think he may have put the exploit on the site through the i-frames. To be clear, we THINK it was him. We'll know for sure in a few minutes.

:) Well, let me put it this way. His i-frame is loading the exploit. But it is possible that someone else is screwing him. I'd like to finish the days with no new lawsuits.

You have to remember, this is the person who has the mentality that it's okay to make light of animals being tortured. Just because his site gained a lot of success and he's making a lot of money does NOT mean he has good business sense.

i stand behind rick on this one - clients that fuck around like that need to be EXPOSED PUBLICALLY so that no one else will accept their advertising.

if i ever catch any client putting an exploit on any of their advertising the account would be canceled and no money refunded, and i would tell everyone else in the tgp game about it. I've canceled trades with sites based on the same reason.

people should NEVER use i-frames anyway. bad bad bad bad.

Media attention has been given to several commercial IIS websites being remotely hacked recently. Exploit-MhtRedir.gen was used to redirect the user's web browser to the location http://217.107.218.147 containing an infected web page that caused un solicited files to be downloaded and executed.

The exploit results in a CHM (Microsoft Compiled Help) file being written to the local system allowing for additional exploit code to then execute the downloaded file.

The end result is the execution of arbitrary code at the permission level of the current user.

Who else is involved with starpass networks?

The advertiser had been running on SteakandCheese.com (one of our other sites) for a week without a problem. I checked daily. Today the campaign switched, as scheduled, from SNC to CJ. What I still can't figure out is how it wasn't until 9PM that I could reproduce the problem. We don't take pulling an advertiser down mid-campaign lightly. I had to be sure. I only got 3 emails from fans about the problem and it took a while to get info back from them. Problem is we get emails like that (usually 2-3 a day) all the time. Seems some adware people target our URL's to launch ads. People w/ the adware installed hit any high traffic domains (such as ours) and the adware starts launching pops and more installs. SUCKS ass b/c we get the blame for it.

Regardless, I take responsiblity for this. It was my mistake letting the advertiser go with the Iframe. It only came up after the contracts were signed and the payment had been recieved and rather than cancel out of the deal I wanted to try and make it work for the customer. We got fucked by trying to make it work for the customer. I won't be bitter or stop trying to do my best for my customers. Contrary to most of today's threads, THAT is what's gotten us to where we are.

We are 100% now. We know this guy did it. National Net had nothing to do with this so now I have to spend the next 6 months trying to make it up to Tony. I keep trying to catch him fucking up and I'm wrong about it every time.

Letting an outsider put an iframe on your site is almost like letting em grab ya by the balls an hope he doesnt squeeze.
