SEO - Galleries seen as doorway pages?
When I design galleries I take care to ensure that there's a reasonable amount of unique text targeting a specific keyword phrase on each page. But what about people that make galleries with little or no text, or duplicate text? Do Google and/or Yahoo view these as doorway pages? Or are they OK if they're not orphaned?

Who knows Groove - but I'd doubt it!
If a page has "substance" and happens to be a gallery - I doubt engines would consider it a doorway - tho it "probably" is in a fashion :) |
PS.. All that stuff we do here is optimized and never had any problems - some gets listed OK on engines. It also may have to do with external linkage inwards and also internal domain links to the page/gallery.

Galleries are content pages. Googles wants a midget porn gallery to rank highly if the surfer typed "midget porn pictures" into the search field.
Much better than a site that sez "You searched for midget porn! Click here for the best mortgage rates!" |
as long as pages are not duplicates, google will index them....and seems to like them

Galleries are fine even without text.If you are using templates and every gallery has the same titlle and alt tag you may not get indexed but otherwise no problem.Of course textual content is good.

Thanks for the comments guys :glugglug
