Photoshopers, can you answer this ?
I'm making some thumbs from screencaps and i'm trying to give 'em a really nice crystal clear look.
Here's my question: What is best: applying effects (lightness, contrast, curves, sharpness ...) before of after resizing the original pics ? And if you have some other tips fo making good looking thums, please share :glugglug Thanks :thumbsup |
Screencaps are not the best raw material....
But if the pics are similiar in lighting, you may be able to record an action on the first one, and apply it to all the rest. Always work on the full size image. Start by setting the levels so you have a full dynamic range. Often this is 80% of the improvement that you can get. If the colours are off at all, fix the saturation next. Last try an unsharp mask at 5 pixels. Can't see thumbs being worth any more than this. Cheers |
Thanks Paul :thumbsup
I prefer playing with curves rather than with levels but i guess you can obtain pretty much the same ;) |
