I feel somewhat qualified to reply, since I also reside in PHX...moved from Chicago.
PHX: It sucks here basically from June to September. That's 4 months. I mean, you can swim, do things outside in the morning before it gets too hot...even during the day, cause the heat doesn't affect some people.
Chicago: October to April, it SUCKS. That's about 6 months. Too cold for anyone to do anything, most of the time. Sun sets at 4 in the afternoon in the winter...ugh.
It basically boils down to the suckage factor...it sucks here less.
And besides, the chicks are OFF THE HOOK...ask anyone...
