Hiding static IP for TGP submissions?

I have ADSL with a static IP and want to do additional daily TGP submissions. Many TGPs prohibit more than one submission daily. What's the best way to hide my ISP details? Using an anonomizer service would look extremely suspect, as would the use of open proxies. I could use dialup, but that would slow me down.

Any suggestions?

bitch, are you retarded?

V_RocKs 07-20-2004 01:10 AM

Umm, no... Get a book on TCP/IP and HTTP and you will see that as far as you took it, it is not possible. So, you can use proxies then. Like everyone else who is doing it. Or you could find an unpublished exploit in Windows and use it to create a bot empire and use them to submit.

I know how to setup a proxy server. I guess the issue is, what is the best way of doing this without drawing undue attention? For example should it be at a different host to your galleries, should it appear to be an ISP, etc?

I know how to do it :) and (sings) I'm not gonna tell you....
cause I own a TGP :1orglaugh

And I will so blacklist you..

Dagwolf 07-20-2004 01:31 AM

Oh, wait.. I forgot, i allow multiple submissions. As long as they're not too similar.

Oh well, no cheaters anyway.

I imagine you can use all the submission you can get :glugglug

Baal 07-20-2004 01:37 AM

The best solution is to learn how to do socket level programming (C/C++ or PERL work nicely). Then learn how to construct IP and HTML headers (TCP headers too, just to be 31337); they're pretty simple. Once you get those basic skills, you can forge any header info. that you need to.

Of course, once you can do that, you'll make a shitload more as a programmer than you ever will by cheating TGP submissions.

OK for all the haters... I don't spam, I don't use blind links, I don't do auto-installs, I don't use popups, I don't redirect galleries, I don't fuck with the surfer or other webmasters at all. Wanting to submit an extra TGP gallery or two is probably the most suspect thing I've ever done after several years in this biz. If that makes me a "cheater" fine. But the fact is EVERYONE who is making decent money out of TGP submissions is submitting more than one gallery per day.

So will someone please answer my question? :)

I have several.

But what about the sites where I don't?

And sites that only allow one submit per partner?

Dagwolf 07-20-2004 02:04 AM

Well, that doesn't sound too bad... but I have a feeling I'd be lynched if I told you anything.

SomeCreep 07-20-2004 02:15 AM

No wonder more and more TGPs are just listing their own galleries.

OK, I'll bite. I'll assume that you're just an honest TGP submitter who submits decent galleries and who just wants to turn the traffic up a notch (or 10).

You are a salesman. You are selling a product that you do not own, and are paid by commission. Your galleries are ads. The billboards that your ads are shown on are owned by TGP site owners. Instead of thinking "how can I screw the billboard owners over on the number of ads I can place", why not think "what can I do to get the billboard owners to *want* to place my ads more often?"

Cash works. So does trust. So does submitting reliably over time. So does friendship.

Instead of trying to increase your ad-view numbers by cheating, why not try to build trust, reliability, and friendships with those same TGP owners instead of trying to trick them? It's a much longer-lasting solution that way.

Thanks for an intelligent and thoughtful reply :thumbsup

However I'm not interested in paying for gallery spots at this point in time (I'm not sure my profit margins are up to that), submitting reliably over time will only get you so far, and I live outside the US, so going to conventions on a regular basis and thereby having an opportunity to form friendships with major TGP webmasters is easier said than done.

Besides, I seriously doubt that there are many if any major players in the TGP submissions game who are not making numerous unauthorized posts.

Vitasoy 07-20-2004 03:34 AM

With out cheating... try to get submiter accounts. Next option is pay gallery submitters.

That is still cheating.

You had a second chance to actually look like someone smart. You missed that chance.

I really don't see what the big deal is with people submitting more than one gallery.. I personally would rather have less people submitting more galleries that post good shit and don't redirect than dealing with a few hundred submitters.

I can understand them not wanting you to submit more than one gallery to the same category.. But all in all their are plenty of TGP's out their that allow more than one submit per day.

InsaneMidget 08-08-2004 01:58 PM

there is no money in tgp submitting, get out now.

strobi 08-08-2004 02:41 PM

if you may only post 1 gallery/day, do so. I have banned people who submit using multiple IPs and so do alot of other TGP owners.

Webmaster_Logic 08-08-2004 02:46 PM

Anyone got any partner accounts open? i will only submit once a day:glugglug

sixxxth_sense 08-08-2004 02:49 PM

this fucker's got the balls!

hahha

o man the replys are way too fucking funny!

Jer 08-08-2004 05:01 PM

Build a picture gallery - submit to TGPs
Build a movie gallery - submit to MGPs

2 galleries and 100% honest

alexg 08-08-2004 05:03 PM

Why don't you email the tgp owners and ask them? :1orglaugh
