What to know when signing with payhost?
What do I need to know about the payhost that I thinking about to signup with? Except storage, bandwidth and which scrpts it supports? I guess speed is important, but which speed should I demand?

One damm annoying thing for me has been getting a hosting company to stop billing my cc after I cancled my account with them, three months ago now.
my current host host is billed through a third party billing company, which I'm happier with. J |
Justin, which is you current host?

I'm with westmaster at the moment and It's billed through ccbill.
I know they took a bit of flack on here a few days ago but they have been as good as gold to me with the three domains I have on their servers. J |
Fever,
Phone their tech support during office hours. If you get an answering machine then fuck 'em. You reach 500k global uniques... then the site goes down. An answering machine ain't gonna sort that out! They should have ICQ for quick contact. |
Also, speak to the tech support before signing up. Ask stupid questions, pretend to be a complete dumb ass. See how they reply, and how quickly. Again, if they lose their rag or take an age to reply to emails, then fuck 'em.
And ask how long it will take to set up your account. I think a good idea is to find a competitor with a cheaper plan than they have. Then email them, asking if they can beat the price of their competitor. A good host -will- be flexible and knock down their charge... or possibly beat their competitor. |
Also ask them who else is hosted there, get some TGP or free site names to check out.
