Hard Rock (Hollywood, FL) Hotel & Casino --What a piece of shit.

Wow, what a piece of shit that seminole casino in Hollywood is. Anyone else been? It's like a Senior citizens day club. Bingo, cheesey fucking slot machines. Remember this post when you're headed to Internext and find yourself with some free time. Spare yourself the agony. NO BLACKJACK, Roulette, Baccarat, or Craps tables. And the Texas Hold em? $2 a fucking hand maximum.

Fucking Indians! :ak47:

My sentiments exactly. Utterly ridiculous. :feels-hot

A casino without blacjack is like a Hooter's with all A-cup waitresses!

Sounds about like the slot machines in Myrtle Beach. You can play em for $2 but if you win $5 you are screwed. They won't let you cash out till you win $10 or $15. And don't let me even get started on Don Laughlin's Hotel & Casino in Laughlin Nevada. Holy Christ...They actually had the card game "War" there if I remember correctly. It reminded me of National Lampoons Vegas Vacation where Clark is going to the "Outskirts" casinos to win his money back.

No, no. The hotel itself is great. Looks spectacular, in fact.
However for casino/gambling purposes? It's absolute trash.
Long diatribe short, if you're looking to sleep there - Go ahead :)

Nick, that's funny. I actually seen that in the Chevy Chase, Vegas Vacation movie. I thought it was only a joke, for movie purposes -- :1orglaugh @ War. But hey, can't get better odds then that.

As of right now those games are illegal still, even on the reservation. All gaming activities have to be related to bingo somehow, except for poker .. however this fall I believe there is a vote to change that .. do some research, and dont forget to vote!

You calling the Seminole Indians stupid?

They're laughing all the way to the bank. Before the Hard Rock opened they were netting over $5 Million a month in profits.

It'll easily double if not more with this new casino.

I forget the exact income stat, but with the new hard rock, they projected each Indian in the local tribe would be getting close to $400,000 a year in profit checks without having to do any work.

Yeah, that's it. I'm calling them all stupid. I guess you got that connotation from the word "stupid" being mentioned in my posts. Oh wait, that's right - I never uttered the word stupid. Nor do I give a fuck about the Native Americans as a whole. Nor do I give a fuck how prevalent the "intelligence juices" are flowing throughout the Native American community.

However what I do care about is driving 30-miles anticipating my Casino visit. Then becoming greatly perturbed at the array of all "poker tables". Then deciding, hey, I guess I'll just play poker. Only to find out there is a waiting list over an hour long to get a seat. So while they are "laughing to the bank" and while you feel it is your duty to flaunt IRRELEVANT statistical revenue data. I feel it is my duty, to express myself on what a bullshit Casino I have just visited.

Simple, okay Chief?

Butrflied - Thanks for the heads up.

Good info KRL. It sounds like some nice Karma for the Native Americans! :thumbsup

There is no legalized gambling in Florida except for the few exemptions the Indians were given. The last two times legalizing gambling in Florida made it to the ballot, it got voted down, mainly by the conservative, bible thumpers in North Florida.
It's going to happen one day though when the stupid ass politicians relaize there will be no increase in organized crime activity if they bring in legalized gambling. It's already here.
The state is missing out on boatloads of cash.

They have one over here in Tampa too. The only good thing about the place is the 24/7 liquor license they get. After 3am on the weekends the place is jumping with people who just left ybor!

Thank you for saving me from wasting my time. I was thinking of going there this week.

like totally sucks

Was there for a concert about a month ago. The concert arena was small, my guess is that it holds maybe 2500 people max. The pool area seemed to be designed very similar to the Las Vegas resort.

I like the Hard Rock chain as a whole, the rock and roll memorabilia is always worth touring the entire property. The center bar was nicely designed. I have always found bingo, lotto and slots to be as boring as watching paint dry. Definitely, if your into table games as found in Vegas, you will be bored stiff here. If low stakes poker and slots is your gig, settle in because you may have found a new home. The Seminole tribe is doing something right, I met a few members of the tribe at some pool tournaments and they certainly do not seem to be hurting for disposable income.
