I haven't had a date in awhile- so my moms friends think I am gay.

What the hell?

My conversation went like this this morning:

Me: "Morning. Hey I went on a date last night."
Mom: "Errrm... wasn't a guy was it?"
Me: "What the fuck?"

Well let me put it this way. The last time I went out with a female on a formal date was probably over a year and a half ago. So I guess I can understand why she would be a little freaked out.

Moms today are a lot more liberal-minded I guess. My mom grew up in the 30's and 40's, she's 78 now. As a kid she would have had me by the hair in a second and shaken the shit out of me if I had of been mouthing off or swearing in any manner.

She never put up with that sort of nonsense from anyone.

As I grew up it became a concious decision born out of respect for her not to swear in her presence. I do undestand that today's moms are different though.

I think that you have to talk with her... maybe, she worries about your private life
