I got a hp pavilion zd7000

Fast enough to do anything I've needed without any lag at all

been hearin a lot of good things about Dells Inspirons and lattides. i'd probably check those out. :)

To clarify its a zd 7140us

I like the touchpads on the hp's.

i have a 15.4 and it is almost too big, i could not imagine 2 more inches

Alienware makes a sweet 16.1 w/3.4extreme p4 for $3300

I love my Powerbook 17"

It is pretty large but I use it for everything and it is light in my opinion...

A stretch to call any 17 incher a "lap"top, but this is the best 17" portable to buy. Your wallet might not like it though.

figured that just wanted to give you a hard time.. Thats the one I was looking at to get today, but I just don't like HP. But of the 17" notebooks its probably the best one.

I lie gateway but I bet they go tits up. And the Alienware is about $1k more for the same specs.

So how do you like it? Do they have a pointer and touchpad version?

its pretty badass, battery life is shit though, 2 hours maximum, sometimes 1.5.
