Company I work for would have pressed charges. I was just trying to let him know that he should not say he TOOK them. People will read this differently. IMHO.

Probably the easiest Federal offense to nail him with would be the Economic Espionage Act of 1996, and e-mails would more than likely be 'trade secrets'
