New Virus???
 

Anyone heard of a new virus coming in your e-mail

"New Family Photos"

It is supposed to come from someone you know and is supposed to wipe out your C Drive

My wife works at Eckerds Drugs and received a notice in it in her inner office e-mail

My Family I have had this for over a year and it's done nothing

WEll this one isn't a hoax, because it happend to me yesterday. Someone (I never found out who) sent me an e-mail with an attachment that was called sexy_virgin.scr

When I was trying to open my mail in Outlook 2000, Norton Anti-Virus suddenly popped up and said that it was in my temp directory.

To make a long story short, I had to quarantine the file, then delete it. It wiped out my Outlook 2000, and even after a reinstall I haven't gotten it back. I use Outlook Express now, and when I imported messages, I lost about the last weeks worth.

It is a nasty virus that according to Norton rewrites your wsock32.dll file, then gets the latest update over the internet on the virus newsgroup, attaches itself to your e-mail and sends itself to all the people in you address book, and destroys files on your harddrive.

THANK GOD Norton found it before I opened it, so except for Outlook 2000 taking a nosedive, the rest of my system is intact.

That sexy_virgin.scr is a about a year old if I remember correctly. Once you're infected, it sends itself to every email on your computer that it can find.

One of the tgp owners that I post to was infected, but I don't know which one it was. Either Pink World, World Sex or Dr. Bizzaro I am sure. At the time I received the mail, I was using my ldinternet.co.uk email account ONLY to post to tgps. I had sent galleries to the above tgps, and received that virus via my ldinternet.co.uk email address a few days later. There is no way that anyone else even knew about that email address - only the tgps that I had sent galleries to.

Fortunately I'd heard about it before, so I didn't run it. Not that I'm that stupid anyway http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

Since then I've reformatted my computer (I was going to reformat anyway), so the virus is completely and utterly gone now.
