this month was great till about 4 days ago

so far this summer is going waaaayyy better than any other summer i've experienced (saleswise)

Well we can see a slowdown on special days in the USA (thanksgiving, etc)

If you do a high volume of sales, summer slowdown is NOT a myth. Sure if you are still growing your sales you wont see it, but traffic is definitely harder to come by and would be a good 10%-20% lower.

I'm hearing from others I know that their sales are really good this month, mine are too

Usually there is a summer slow down, but I haven't seen it yet this year.. that's a good sign

Back in 96, I think...we went to our first little webmaster get together. It was in Montreal and my wife and I met some of the first people in this business. We had this get together during the Memorial Day weekend. There was a man there who I still feel has a better feel for this business than anyone I know. Think about it...
First, Colleges and Universities are now closed so the guys with Daddy's new Credit Card are no longer surfing around for porn.
Second, with the better weather coming, more and more people are spending time outside. They are enjoying their pools, beaches, motorcycles and just life outside in general.
Third, people in the summer, just have better places to spend their money.

So, I am here to tell you that the summer slowdown is not a myth. It is as real as it gets.

But, there are things that can be done about it...
You are going to need to send more traffic and get used to your ratios not being as good as they have been these past few months. You are going to need to build more sites, more galleries and work for traffic as hard as you possibly can. While the surfers are enjoying your summer, you need to work harder than ever to keep your income the same as it has been.

I am going into my 8th summer in this business and have not seen one where traffic and signups didn't drop.

Just be prepared for it and work harder and you will be fine. Conversely, with all this new work and new sites and TGPs, after the summer is over, you will make more money than ever.

It's just the way it works and there is no way around it. The summer hurts our business. Don't let anyone tell you it doesn't.
