It doesn't matter. Fox News will pick the winner anyway.

crockett 07-15-2004 06:08 PM

I think it's good that it's back in the news..

Some of the same issues are still there with nothing in place to stop it from happening again.

There were a lot of voters that had the legal right to vote, that were turned away from the booths, because they had the same name as a convicted criminal. They were mostly black, and more than likely would have voted democrat.

And then there were those who were to STUPID to figure out which name they wanted to pick.

Tom_PMs 07-15-2004 06:16 PM

Wouldnt be brought up all the time if it wasn't newsworthy to this day.

Bullshit! No racial thing here. That's just the tried and true excuse that the bleeding heart liberals like to use when they lose. Play the fucking race card.

I'm sure tampering goes on all the time ON BOTH SIDES, in every state and in every election. The only reason people are making such a big deal of it is because the vote was so close.

Believe me, if Gore had won, this industry would be really fucked up right now. Tipper Gore would have launched the crusades.

I know you're not. If I thought you were, you'd know it. :)

Dagwolf 07-15-2004 07:33 PM

Have any of you republicans ever REALLY thought about the phrase "bleeding-heart liberal"?

"Bleeding-heart" = compassionate, concerned.

According to m-w.com (the dictionary)

Quote:

2 : a person who shows extravagant sympathy especially for an object of alleged persecution

And LIBERAL :

Quote:

2 a : marked by generosity : OPENHANDED <a liberal giver> b : given or provided in a generous and openhanded way <a liberal meal> c : AMPLE, FULL

5 : BROAD-MINDED; especially : not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or traditional forms

6 a : of, favoring, or based upon the principles of liberalism b capitalized : of or constituting a political party advocating or associated with the principles of political liberalism;
Which leads to LIBERALISM
Quote:

1 : the quality or state of being liberal
2 a often capitalized : a movement in modern Protestantism emphasizing intellectual liberty and the spiritual and ethical content of Christianity b : a theory in economics emphasizing individual freedom from restraint and usually based on free competition, the self-regulating market, and the gold standard c : a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties d capitalized : the principles and policies of a Liberal party
So, leaving out liberalism definiition 2:a, feel free to call me a bleeding-heart liberal. That's what I am and I'm proud of it.

Tom_PMs 07-15-2004 07:35 PM

Way to OWN, hehehe :glugglug :glugglug

spanky part 2 07-15-2004 07:43 PM

Conservative
1a: A person who doesn't get laid enough, and therfore is pissed at anyone who does.

2a: Person of small penis to match their mind.

3a: Person who is so unsure of their own sexuality, that they want to legislate everyone elses.

You are just making excuses. You either care that many black Americans in Florida weren't allowed to vote or you don't. Apparently, you don't care. Who's the racist now?

Jeb Bush and his brother illegally blocked black people from voting in Florida.

That isn't the Democrats doing anything, that's a fact.

If you don't want people to bring up race, don't try to stop black people from voting - it's that easy.

If you think it's ok to try to stop blacks from voting, then you really should vote for Bush - you'll fit right in.

Then why has Bush turned his back on the NAACP?

He hasn't. There have been some scheduling conflicts.

Oh bullshit.

YORK, Pa. - President Bush said Friday he was declining an invitation to speak to the NAACP's convention in Philadelphia because of harsh statements about him by leaders of the venerable civil rights group.

"I would describe my relationship with the current leadership as basically nonexistent," Bush told reporters. "You've heard the rhetoric and the names they've called me."
