I haven't seen milk bags in about 5 years in stores. They used to be all the rage though.

so instead of making water balloons we let a bag of milk go sour and then pitch it at someone.

:2 cents:

Actually, I rather the milk in bags as I don't taste the bleach on the carton nor the plastic taste of the plastic jugs.

Cheaper in price & less waste I guess.

I love milky bags.

Fizzgig 07-15-2004 03:08 PM

We used to always buy it like that, so much cheaper. Haven't seen them in awhile myself.

What I miss is going to the farm and getting the huge jars of fresh milk with the cream on top! Can't do that anymore I think they put a ban on it...or something?

Do you remember picking fresh blueberries and scooping up the cream from those milk jars over the berries?
*dies*

The stuff they use to bleach the milk cartons gives ya cancer, so we decided to put it in bags instead. When taken to the landfill it compresses into a smaller size so it takes up less space.

actually we have far superior light blocking technology that we've put to use in our milk jugs. they claim it keeps the milk fresher for longer but the jugs always have the same expiration dates as the other (inferior) clear jugs. nonetheless, we'll gladly pay three dollars per gallon of milk, so long as it's protected if we ever feel the need to store it in direct sunlight.
