What % of adult surfers has got a toolbar installed?

Mainly google and yahoo

Is there any stats about that available?

Also does anyone know which popup blocking technology yahoo is using and which other software might use the same?

Thanks

I'm sure it's none of my business, but why do you want to know that?

Soon everyone with Windows XP will have popup blocking enabled by default.

Popup marketing will be a thing of the past after September.

Active X based 'popups' are another species entirely ** SHRUG**

I really think Windows, etc. should include anti-trojan / anti-spyware / anti-adware tools and have them enabled by default in their next updates. They have the resources to do it and keep an hourly up-to-date databases and it would save a lot of problems, though the local tech support companies may not like that as less people would spend $120 to have someone run some free software that's downloaded to remove crap.

Cheers,
Matt

StarkReality 07-15-2004 07:08 AM

Maybe it's just a snapshot, but 180solutions for example (Read here what their thief-/spyware does) just got 40.000.000$ of venture capital (Article here)

According to SeattlePI (Article here) they got 30.000.000 !!!!! software installs, and that's just one of many companies
