What do you think about this laptop?
Well im finally getting my money from home owners insurance for a new desktop and laptop.
Im going to order this within the week. Dell Inspiron 8600 Intel Pentium M Processor 1.5GHz 15.4" Ultrasharp Wide Screen XGA 512MB DDR SDRAM 60GB Hard Drive 24x CDRW/DVD Combo Drive 32MB DDR NVIDIA GeForceFX Go5200 AGP 4x Intel PRO Wireless 2200 internal wireless card (802.11B - same wireless I have setup now) $1549 with a $250 mail in rebate...So it comes out to $1299. Im thinking ill turn the receipt in for the $1549 (they're giving me $1500 for each the laptop and $1500 for the desktop), and then send in the mail in rebate and get the $250 cash.... |
For that price i think you can get one with more HD space and a DVD Burner

And I personally want an alienware but they're a little too expensive..so my next choice is a dell. Keep in mind, I need a receipt for the home owners so I get fully reimbursed. |
Wow!! the price is... can't afford it yet!!!

I've had much better performance with a P4 that has hyperthreading than an AMD 64bit processor. |
that's a good one
dell inspiron rules :thumbsup |
The only problem that I have with Dell is getting it repaired, god forbid that something ever happens.. You either have to mail it back to them, or if you paid the extra 4 or 5 hundred then they will send someone out..
That was the reason that I took an HP. I have no problems with it, and if I do Best Buy will fix it... Just my :2 cents: |
I broke the screen of my dell laptop a couple weeks ago.
Here in europe, dell said they don't sell it as spare parts and i had to send the laptop to them. it would be like $550 for the screen and $250 for the work (hmm, i could get a new laptop for that price LOL) turns out my screen is pretty rare, after a week of searching i found an exact match at a company in Hong Kong hehe just $160 (used one), looks just like new, not a single scratch. Unless you break it yourself, dell hardware lasts for a long time |
Sony Vaio...
