8-10 oz. dried yuba
(bean curd sheets, found in Chinese groceries)
[I use yuba sticks instead of sheets]
1/4 c. nutritional yeast flakes
1/4 c. smooth peanut butter (or other nut butter)
[I've tried this with peanut butter and with tahini, and definitely prefer peanut butter]
2 T. dark miso
1 T. melted margarine
1 T. water
[I use a lot more water, so that the mixture is more the consistancy of a gravy than a paste]
2 t. paprika
2 c. BBQ sauce
(Ron Pickarski's sauce from _Eco-Cuisine_ is to die for)

If you want the best steak that you will ever have try the following..

Choose a great cut.. Take a knife and make a few slices on each side. Not too deep..

Get Mortons Kosher salt. Sprinkle on each side about 5 minutes before you put them on the grill...

Turn the grill on low, and place a metal pan of water above the flames, but under where you place the steaks. After about 10 0r 15 minutes, turn the grill to high.

Check for the color you want, and serve...

Poles mean nothing - Performance is everything! Everybody loves an underdog:-)

Sounds a lot like water smoking. This method would be great for tougher cuts of meat!
