Just installed SP2 update - We are in a world of hurt! The Popup is Dead.

Just installed Windows Service Pack 2 (beta). The new PopUp Blocker is automatically on in Internet Explorer and it works real good.

I haven't found any popup that comes up.

It'd be interesting to test it more. If anyone has a link I can test, post it here. :)

Does the SP2 block all JS stuff ? Do parent window and location replace (redirect) still work ?

I have said this MANY times now and no-one has showed any type of concern. Windows XP SP2 will block ALL popups, dialog (modal and modeless) windows, auto-installs, and active-x install dialogs.

You popup guys are in for a world of hurt. There is no current popup code available, anywhere, that can bypass SP2.

"Does the SP2 block all JS stuff ? Do parent window and location replace (redirect) still work ?"

No.

Have fun. :glugglug

Look at those sloppy dialogs, someone needs to learn how to use primers :)

That's Flash though.. pops inside the window. Guess we'll be seeing a lot more of those.

Okay sponsors, you heard it here first . . . we have a generator available at a very reasonable price . . . . although with SP2 maybe we should jack the price a little, ;)

MS is supposed to finally release this update in August. Shouldn't take that long with their update system to get people updated with the popup blocking version of IE. What? By the end of the year...? Popups are dead.

http://www.karasxxx.com/index2.shtml?

Go there. I know google blocks the onload pop under but then try and close the window and see what happens.

It will hit some people really hard, right away. SP2 will be available in windows update for everyone to download, even pirated copies will be able to install and use SP2.

It will not take long for some 19 year old kid to find a new popup code, though :)

These are dialog windows, both types are blocked in SP2.

$1,500 for the generator - allows affiliates to generate their own approved ads, complete with their affiliate code built in

It's not all bad. With less reliance on console sales/trades, we may see much more attention to members areas.
There's always, always a silver lining.

People that want to design and create their own individual ads should go visit SlidingAds.com
