More Assasination attemps (CNN)

Mosul governor shot, killed in ambush

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The governor of the northern Iraqi district of Mosul was shot and killed Wednesday in an ambush on his vehicle, an Iraqi official in Mosul told CNN.

Hazem al-Galawi, chief of the governor's office in Mosul, said Usama Kashmola and two bodyguards died when attackers opened fire as they traveled on a road between Baghdad and Mosul.

Al-Galawi said he thinks the strike was a targeted assassination. Iraqi officials frequently have been targeted by insurgents.

They'll just keep killin'em until there's no iraquis left, only terrorists. Then they'll change the country's name to Terrak.

Hey, that's a pretty cool name! :)

Pretty sad but I feel the same way. Terrorist will rule and control Iraq. Many victims of the war are joining the Terrorist and Bin Laden is more powerful everyday. :(

Is Al-Qaeda winning the war?

There is mounting concern that Al-Qaeda and its international affiliates are actually stronger now than they were in 2001.

That's not an assasination attempt... that's an assasination.

An attempt would be if the guy lived.

How did Al-Qaeda go from being the enemy of every ME government and pretty much every terrorist organisation in there to a growing organisation with an increasing number of recruits?

If your family was part of collateral damage, would you be angry? Not all Iraqi people view the war as liberation. Some view it as invasion and when their family members die from attacks they feel angry and join Al Qaeda. :(

the war in iraq.

we not only created a power vacuum, but we pissed off a lot muslims by coming in an occupying their land. if a foreign enemy came onto my land, i'd join a milita and try to get the the hell out too.

if we lose complete control in iraq, it could easily spill over into saudi arabia. if we lose control of both those areas, watch the world plunge into a depression, since militants would control the oil.

What's with the semantics debate over the word attempt?

If you really want to get technical about this... If I attempt to throw a ball, and I succeed... I still attempted it. An assassination still has to start with an attempt. They attempt to do it, and if they succeed, then it's a successful assassionation. It was still an attempt.
