Is the Philippines right in pulling out of IRAQ?
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...d=540&ncid=716
On one hand: International commitments should be honored. Also, by caving in to terrorist threats wouldn't this encourage MORE threatened beheadings? Moreover, domestic terrorists in the Philippines may take this as a sign of weakness and encourage more domestic attacks. On the other hand: The Philippines has MILLIONS of overseas workers that it has to account and care for. By letting the beheading of one of its offshore workers to occur, the government will lose the trust of its people abroad and would only lead to less $$$ remittances back to the Philippines. Your thoughts? |
to me it makes no sense , human life is not worth much over there , why "cross" us partner for one fillipino ? :helpme

All I can say is negatiating with terroists only brings more terrorism.
|
all 51 of them are pulling out. .. . ya PULL OUT mofos go back to your shit hole island
|
I think they will find out what caving to the terrorist means.. They already have their own issues at home with Muslim extremists. I'm sure it will now become a bigger issue.
|
Frankly.. for the difference 50 soliders can make - it ain't worth the bother and is almost irrelevant.
If it saves a guys life, - it's worth it. Tho let's see if it does.... It might be better looking at the cause of all this. It is an "illegal" war instigated by an idiot based on lies. Why the hell should anyone even consider supporting this? If there is concern over "principles" - these principles should have concerned the US Admin before they comtemplated this latest adventure into a world that they have no fucking clue about - and never will have.. |

kicking anthills brings more terrorism too... |
No. Fucking pussies.
Setting a bad example. No country should negotiate with terrorists and if they are involved in a war should expect casualties. Period. |

I'm sure they were looking to get out of there anyway and this was a good excuse.

This whole thing turned out to be a lot of trouble fot the Philipino government and that hostage situation only angered people more and they where protesting like crazy. I don't think the Philipine government had much choice.
The spineless Philipino government bent over to pressure from the US despite the population wishes. I can only blame Bush for creating a fictional coalition. |
The Philipenes is in a lose-lose situation. If they stay, the dude gets killed, but if they go, the terrorists win and they look weak. Either way, they're not going to come out of this ahead. :(
|
this is downright stupid. it will probably not stop the guy from getting killed and will send a terrible maessage to the terrorists- terror works!

only if you will see how the people of the Republic of the Philippine pleaded to the government to pull out the troops, if you'll be in the administration's shoe, i bet you guys will do the same thing...if you saw the hostage Angelo Dela Cruz beg for the President to pull out the troops..it was so heart breaking for most especially for his family & the father of eight little kids.
Filipinos are so proud of what the government's decision...nobody will help a filipino except his fellow filipino...the government did their very best to save a life, for me that's the most courageous deed ever done...im proud of my country... i am a filipino.... |

I think it's smart for the Philippines to pull out. Most of the Philippine population are AGAINST the war in Iraq. Moreover, by letting scumbags behead an overseas worker, the government will be sending a bad sign to all the Philippinos overseas that send money home.:2 cents:
|
i think whether the Philippines withdraw its troops in Iraq or not, it will still be in a critical situation..
