Webmasters/webmistresses --- are you drinking enough water?

Well, are you?

Importance of water -

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

(No kidding, all of the above is true.)

Of course, too much water may have strange side effects (see picture below)

coke is far better!:thumbsup

jimmyf 07-13-2004 07:52 PM

Water, coffee and a little milk is all I drink.

Tom_PMs 07-13-2004 07:56 PM

I drink coffee from morning until night usually.. sometimes a glass or two of milk or juice also, but mostly coffee. It's really bad, lol..

I have never, ever in my life purchased bottled water. I also dont have a water filter in my home, which is why I dont drink more of it. Sometimes I fill a large container with water after letting the faucet run for literally a few minutes, then chill it and drink it the next day.

But I'm curious why female webmasters arent just called webmasters? It's not like webmaster is a gender specific term, where as webmistress makes it sound like they're cheating with the web, which is married.. :Oh crap

:glugglug

EZRhino 07-13-2004 08:43 PM

I get enough water from the ice in my Jack and coke. :thumbsup

spentrent 07-13-2004 08:51 PM

This post made me really thirsty.

Some like to be called webmistresses, some like to be called webmasters. It isn't hard to figure out, and I don't pay attention to all this politically correct bullshit.

As for drinking coffee all day..... I confess I've been guilty of that in the past myself. I still drink quite a bit of it, but I also guzzle some water as well as juices and milk in between coffees as much as I can. Also, I take a big glass of water into my bedroom at night and drink most of it before nodding off.

I started noticing I had some dark circles under my eyes, and the main remedy for that is....... you guessed it...... WATER. Actually the recommendation is less coffee and more water. I try to no longer drink coffee after about 3 or 4 pm.

FlyingIguana 07-13-2004 10:26 PM

i try to drink 6 glasses a day.

if your urine is yellow anytime other than first thing when you wake up, you're not drinking enough water

You're welcome. Rember to brush your teeth, and also... if at all possible, don't drink water from the toilet.

That's all my sound advice for today.

AMADude 07-13-2004 11:08 PM

Fuck no, I dont drink enough, but just started today. I drank water all day today and will do it every day from now on.
