New Documentary film proves Fox News bias - trailer video link

New trailer here in Windows Media and Quicktime:

http://http.dvlabs.com/carolina/Outf...ler_A(WM7).wmv
http://http.dvlabs.com/carolina/Outf...ler_A(Med).mov

The film, "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism," draws on clips compiled during weeks of round-the-clock taping of the network to demonstrate what the filmmakers believe is a pattern of right-wing bias and support for the Republican agenda.

"What we found is not that Fox is a conservative network, but that it's a network that follows the party line of the Bush administration," said "Outfoxed" filmmaker Robert Greenwald

The film also quotes internal memos from a top network executive that seem to call for pro-Bush coverage.

Yeah, how dare they air both sides of an issue and call someone on a outright lie.

Just stick with NPR.

Yeah, shouldn't people be more concerned that National PUBLIC Radio is pushing the left wing agenda? Fox News is a private company that can do whatever the hell they want. Take it with a grain of salt and quit whining.

Both sides? Fox? The one side they give is what Bush tells them to give. :1orglaugh

Read the memos from Fox - defend Bush, attack Kerry - that's it.

When did they call Bush and Cheney on their lies?

Just stick with Rush, that way you don't have to think for yourself. :1orglaugh

How about considering the source and then making up your own mind?

Fox didn't make O'Reilly a star, people did, by finding him entertaining and watching. Of course Fox is going to feature him more since he makes them money.

I know FOX news is Biased, but Jesus, about 90% of the quotes there were taken out of context.

You have to be a complete idiot to buy that crap.

cherrylula 07-13-2004 12:07 PM

"Ex-Fox employees tell all"

hahaha I love it.

Michael Moore look what you started. :thumbsup

Thank you for setting that straight!

Bias....hey it looked to me as if Dan Rather could have he would have sucked Bill Clintons dick. Every other Network news agency is so biased and pushing for Kerry, it just makes me laugh when Fox is bashed...But people made them no.1 makes you think huh?

Nov is going to be interesting that is for sure....

Challenge, EXTENDED.

waiting for player input...

Rich 07-13-2004 12:13 PM

It's about fucking time. Unfortunately 99% of people who are stupid enough to take Fox seriously, are also too stupid to think for themselves and change their minds about anything.

angelsofporn 07-13-2004 12:21 PM

fox runs our local AM talk radio network now also and it's just a non stop cheerleading section for bush and patriotism...24 hours a day.

Maerklin 07-13-2004 12:30 PM

ah yea like anything in that was in context.
someone could do that to CNN just as easily.

Just seems like a cheap shot for those dumb enough to nibble

I disagree totally.
Watch a show like hardball on MSNBC, Chris Matthews brings on one liberal and one conservative and asks them both tough questions about the issues.

Watch a program on Fox and they bring two or three conservatives and maybe one liberal whom O'reilly tells to shut up when they try to make a point.

The reason fox is number one is because its the ONLY station die hard conservatives will watch, whereas moderates and liberals are spread out amongst all the other channels that actually do real reporting rather than the TV version of Rush Limbaugh.

Did you hear the Cavuto quote in the trailer? "Imagine if the unthinkable happens and John Kerry is elected president"
Who would watch that besides people who already agree with him?
You won't hear Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman, Joe Scarborough, Bill Press, Pat Buchanan, Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Ted Koppel, Dan Rather, Tim Russert, or any other reputable journalist make remarks like that about any national candidate.

You can't really put ANYTHING into context in a 2 minute trailer clip. You could of course watch the documentary and see for yourself but somehow I think your mind is already made up and you'll just watch Fox New's summation of it.

IPK 07-13-2004 12:48 PM

Yeah that seems about right.

it's always easy to spot someone that hasn't watched FOX for more than 5 minutes.

Well 5 minutes was all it took for me to see that it wasn't "news", it was a Dubya love fest

Randy 07-13-2004 02:33 PM

Fox news is for simple minded people who feel like the fags, the blacks, and tree huggers are taking over the world. They love to see their "enemy" get bashed..its not news people,...its entertainment,

Its no different then the "Gong Show" in the 70's...admit it and just live with it...but do not call it news.

The lone liberal and democrat on that station is Alan Combs who couldnt muster up enough guts to swat a fly let alone debate any one effectively. Why not have someone who knows the issues and can debate them like Al Franken against that smirky little shit Sean Hannity?

Also, I love how they bash newspapers........All major newspapaoers have been deemed liberal......God Yes! Lets all turn to Fox cause its really the only place in the world you can get news......The real news is that viewers are just too fucking lazy and too iliterate to get news from different sources and perspectives!

Instead of Hannity talking about how much jesus doee'nt like abortion (and I have heard him use his jesus beliefs on the subject before) then why not have a good debate on how many parentless children are going to be born in the US and who the hell is going to pick up the bill? Hey I know! Why not send the bill to Jesus!

Hey people! why dont you turn that crap off and just read some oposing prospectives!

Fuck Fox News!

And have a great day! :thumbsup

I've noticed this for awhile now, but I also noticed they're now trying to incorperate mexicans into this propaganda idiot box. Nobody is trying to take over, we all just want some sort of equality. It sucks to watch so many naive people regurgitate the bullshit they've seen on CNN & FOX, etc. They have been programed very well to say the least, but to the rest of us who still enjoy the art of THINKING -- It's total confusion, I feel like i'm the crazy one now adays.

svenski 07-13-2004 03:04 PM

How can you trust someone who keeps telling you that they are the "news channel you can trust".... "fair and balanced..." etc?

Kind of like when someone says:

"I didn't steal that, honestly..."

BRISK 07-13-2004 03:14 PM

The fact that Fox News feels they need to stress the point that they're "Fair and Balanced" is disturbing.

If Fox News really is "Fair and Balanced", why do you need to keep telling us this? It's as if they know they're not "Fair and Balanced", but they're trying their best to convince us that they are. Like if you tell people something enough times they'll actually start to believe it.

Here's a thought! Instead of TELLING us that you're "Fair and Balanced", why not just try BEING "Fair and Balanced" and earning that reputation instead of shoving it down our throats?

Hey guess I am one of those simple minded people right?

Al Franken ? What does a comic writer have to do with anything, he is a putz...and he got his ass cancelled because my view is not a minority....he sucks, and you are so full of the bullshit that the spin masters are feeding you.

Fox was and is smart....good investment for Ruppert...

ronbotx 07-13-2004 05:10 PM

Nothing proved at all. Seem like some of "ex-employees"
were never FNC employees....

Here is a "Fair & Balanced" response to the lefty bullshit. BTW; moveon.org & New York Times were some of the parties responsible for this crap.

Dude, if you do not like Al Franken ok....I can dig up a ton of other people to debate The Right wingers on that show.....once again you and people like you miss the point... It's the point that no liberal is really allowed to debate any issues with Hannity or Oreilly or that fat ass Cavuto ...

And You want to talk about bull shit being fed you? I love how you cling to the "spin" word. You are brainwashed..
