Gay Marriage - Civil Liberties
This is a personal note of request -- This topic is personal to me because it effects some people that I love.
Congress is about to vote on amending the U.S. Constitution to deny marriage equality to same-sex couples -- defacing the U.S. Constitution to take away people's rights. Our Senators will vote on this amendment in the next 48 hours. It's urgent to speak up now and I'm asking for your help. This hateful divisiveness has no place in America. Please join me in saying so, at: http://www.moveon.org/unitednotdivided/ (this is a quick auto-e-mail that will be sent to your Senator) Equality is the civil right of every person. We can't let anyone, or any group, be singled out for discrimination based on who they are or who they love. Thank you for joining me in sending the note at the link above. |

I will tell you why. You don't believe in equality. You believe in furthering your special interests and demanding privileges whereas others have earned or created them in the first place. You are the lazy, pesky by-product of a backwards society that idolizes rudeness instead of honour, ability to cry the loudest instead of ability to make the world work for you and you work for the world. You should be slapped into reality. |
Whats the fucking difference between a hertero marriage and a gay marriage apart from the sex? :helpme
Sweet jesus some people are still not open minded. |

The issue is dead until after the elections. Tune into CSPAN2 in about 20 minutes (2:15PM ET) to watch 'em run like rats!

i have no desire to be married, to a guy or a girl, but i dont see how anyone else has the right to tell me who i can and cannot marry. as u stated, there are much more important issues than this, our government is wasting time and money for the sake of politics and elections. i would MUCH rather spend my time fighting affirmative action, male-only military requirements, etc... those are real issues that need to be addressed. telling a certain group of people that they do not have the same rights as everyone else, is not an issue, its unamerican, and a slap in the face to the founders of this country. |
its strange

Gay marriages have been allowed over here for quite some time now, and I don't see why not?
All I can say is: do you REALY think what you are doing now is going to help? No it's not. Throughout history it was proven that it didn't help and that they don't give a fuck about the public opinion. Sorry, but it's a waste of time. You should have started something like this WAY earlier.. |

really is sad that for all the wisdom we are suppose to have accumulated over these past centuries - that we quarrel about issues like this.
being a democratic society doesnt mean that as long as it agrees with your way of life then its acceptable... it means to accept other points of view and lifestyles. prejudice against gays, blacks or any other culture in years to come will be gone - and right now those who speak out against it are aging dinosaurs. cant wait to rid ourselves of those who dont beleive in democracy and continue to judge people on sexual preference and race. |

I don't accuse you of that though, since I know the correct definition of democracy. I accuse you being a hypocrite though. A bigot. |
