free or cheap SMS script (service)

I'm looking for script (service) which enables me sending SMS through internet for free or very cheap.
I have server (UNIX with cgi, php) and I need send SMS to my friends (birthday greetings, invitations, etc.)

could anybody help me?

If it's just a small amount try ipipi.com. What you need is an SMS Gateway which is usually offered by 'bulk sms' companies, google has some.
