Shopping with famous people
So my friend Natalie had a bit of a treat sort of.
So I take her to Gastown, a very major tourist area in Vancouver. All cobblestone and old looking and tons of souvenir stores and stuff. Anyway, she decides she wants to take a look in the cowboy hat store just for fun. We were in there for a few minutes checking out stuff when in walks Jim Byrnes. The girl in there says offers assistance, the guy welcomes him... my friend walks by him.... Well not me... I look at him and say "wow, shopping with a famous tv and movie star and a great musician as well... this completes my day." and he smiled and put his hand on my shoulder and said "heh, thanks... how's it goin?" and I said "awesome, you?" and he said "great" and then he looked at hats and I walked out of the store. As we left, Natalie looked at me like "wtf??" and I said "that was Jim Byrnes.... you know, the guy from the Highlander tv show?" and she went "oh yeah!!!! OMG!!" It was pretty hilarious. She almost wanted to go back to talk to "the famous person" but knew better than to bug him. I just wanted to say hi to him, let him know I knew who he was but wasn't going to hound him while he was shopping. I think he appreciated that. Anyway, for those of you going "uhm... Jim Byrnes??"... here's a list of his films/shows and a pic. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0126325/ http://www.x0rs.com/pics/jim_b.jpg |
We saw Roseanna Arquette in a Welgreens in Vegas. She was buying some wine and PMS medicine.

Vancouver has more Hollywood celebrities wandering the streets freely at any given time than any other city in the world outside of New York probably. Yesterday, Kelly Osbourne (Ozzy's daughter) said she is looking to move to Vancouver and is shopping here for a condo as she wants to get away from LA.

I've seen numerous stars, has beens, shoulda beens, and never was during my times in Hollyweird.
I loved it....I lived for it. I wouldn't freak out on them or anything but it was always cool to come across someone you grew up watching on t.v. or listening to their music. One of the coolest things was speaking to Frank Oz on the phone when we needed some kind of mechanical/puppet coyote for a commercial...the whole time he's talking to me I can't get over thinking...This is ms. piggy and Yoda on the phone...LOL |
