Anyone have the Sony DVD camcorder?
 

Thinking of getting one, but is it easy to get the file converted to a Windows Media File? How does it compare to a MiniDV?

It's a gimmick. Mini-DV is the only way to go right now.

I heard that hard drive video cameras will be the norm in the future.

The DVD camcorders record in mpeg, which is a compressed format, so the quality is less than mini-dv.

Just got one! it rocks! but the mini DVD's are fucking expensive! I get the rewritables than copy onto regular DVD's in my computer!:2 cents:
