Why are you not verifying sources for request for payment changes???

There are scammers going around trying to get affiliates to change webmasters accounts to be paid out to epassporte accounts which are not associated with the affiliate but are a scammers card. There are accountants just going ahead and changing the payout info without even verifying anyway, by call, email back, or icq!

I have always been afraid of something like this. That is why I always verify by sending to the email address on file. There are some webmasters that think this is a little overboard but after I explain why, they understand.

I know my sponsors very closely that I would expect them to check really closely if such changes were made.

I know exactly where you are coming from, i have been a victim of some identity frauds before, and scams. I got everything settled so it was not a problem.

I don't think you're going overboard...you're just trying to protect us....this is a good thing. :)

I recommend that every webmaster should know there sponsors well especially if you do business with them.

If they don't work with you before you get paid Why should they after, webmaster support is key to any success

Which is why I found out about this :)

But some still fall through the cracks, for instance in one scenario the accountant was mailed directly and the change wasn't submitted by the affiliate manager, the accountant did CC the affiliate manager but it was also sent to the payout people, so if the affil manager never caught it I would be been dead.
