the question is, what is google gonna do with all this money? can they add value to the company. right now they're a one trick pony in a fairly competitive market that can change greatly within a year.

They might decide to invest into Gmail and make it the biggest free email program online.

Wow, I might have to partake in some google buying.

i doubt it's going to happen this month

they could start building an operating system with all that money by hiring people

they need more ROI than what they can get from gmail. its a big ipo and they'll need to do some acquisitions to diversify. yahoo did it and was successful at it. google is still way too dependent on advertising revenue, and guess what, thats what gmail is built upon, advertising revenue.

Plus they announced they're blowing off the NYSE and going on NASDAQ instead.

The last thing I would ever want to attempt buying into is the most over hyped IPO in the past few years. The "greater fool" theory will definitly be in effect when this stock goes public.
