weblog expert
anyone know much about "weblog expert"? I'm trying to set it up but I can't figure out where to point it for my stats file path.
I tried mydomain.com/stats but dosen't work. I'm running a server with FreeBSD and apache.. can anyone give me a hint on this? |
Try the absolute path. home/foo/foo2/public_html/foo.txt or whatever.

I would imagine it is going to use some sort of text file to save stats in. I may be wrong but I would need to look at what you had to be sure. The weblog is written in php correct? And it's asking you for a path to the stats is what I am gathering and you are filling in the blanks. In this case the path to the stats file or we will call it stats.txt would be this. If the stats.txt file exists in say a directory called stats then the absolute path would be something like home/username/public_html/stats/ (not sure about the trailing slash) Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Was there a "readme" included btw?
|
yea it dose but, from what I can see it really dosen't give a general location.. but just mainly goes into all the features of the app

curiosity - why weblog expert?
statcounter can do the same stuff and it's free, unless you're doing insane blog traffic to the tune of 9k a day, then you have to pay an outrageous 10$ a month for sweet tracking |
Check and see if there is some sort of install readme file or something. Seems like that would be a key bit of info. Is the blog not operational without the stats being hooked up?

**edit and it is a program you run on your computer .. not a page counter. From a quick look at statcounter it looks like a counter you put on the webpages.. |
bump ..
