whats a good webcam

im looking to buy a good webcam and was wondering if you fine folks have any opinions on what to get or what to avoid.

im looking for a webcam that will give me a really good picture and preferably streaming video instead of just the still shots every couple seconds. also has to work with msn, yahoo. make your recommendations if you have any, thanks.

I have the Logitech Quickcam messenger...Works great......not the best but the built in mic is cool and the picture quality is good enough!

Old and no longer made, but its the best low lite cam out there and and has about the best picture quality of any cam made then or now. And even tho 3com doenst support it, drivers are available. Ive had mine for about 5 years and its just now starting to deteriorate in picture quality.

My suggestion is just read all the things it does and try to get a real size picture. Stay away from ones with a really small lense, these will be high light only cameras. If you have one with night vision then it is going to have higher quality components than the cheap ones and give you better pic and capture quality.

I believe the streaming has more to deal with the software and conenction you have than the actual camera, but do not go super cheap on this because you want something kinda specific here.

thanks for the offer stocktrader, but im looking for something a bit higher quality.

i checked out the intel pro cam, looks pretty good tho it said something about not working with windows 2000? which would be bad since that is what i have.

i wish these cams had sample shots so i'd know better what i was getting before i bought, lol. im willing to spend 100-200 bucks on a good cam tho.
