AVI vs MPG vs WMV and JPG

What is the best format for video files in a site, most preferred. Aslo, what is an ideal size for images in a paysite gallery, i.e. 1200???

WMV.

WMV compression kicks ass and most people have WM player, if not they can easily update.

Mpeg is good for galleries because its universal, but it compresses like shit compared to wmv.

AVI is out of the question
