Cheney?s f-word quote makes it to thongs

WASHINGTON - Your dog, your toddler, your car and your computer can now sport the same pungent phrase -- suggesting an anatomically unlikely sex act -- uttered in a moment of pique by Vice President Dick Cheney.


Within weeks of Cheney?s angry suggestion to Sen. Patrick Leahy to ?go f? yourself? on June 22, an online cottage industry quoting the vice president has sprung up at Cafepress.com, a Web site offering customized merchandise.

?I thought it was funny,? said Sean Bonner, a Los Angeles art gallery owner who designed a range of products with the legend, ??Go f? yourself? - Vice President, Dick Cheney.?

?I kind of wanted a shirt like that and the best way to do it would be to make it myself,? Bonner said by telephone.

Bonner?s section of the Cafepress site offers regular T-shirts, thongs, creeper outfits for toddlers and infants, dog T-shirts, computer mouse pads, car stickers and trucker hats.

After a mention in The Washington Post on Friday, this collection went from getting few hits to being one of the top four ?shops? on the site, a spokesman for Cafepress said.

adult.com had shirts with "Go Fuck Yourself" long ago, so they might actually have some standing in a case depending on the design of the shirts and whatever previous legal arrangements they had involving such merchandise. On the other hand, it's difficult to trademark dictionary words or common phrases and it's very clear that the intention of the site is poking at the Cheney incident.

Trade marking *Go Fuck Yourself* would have been cool! Just a little superscript *TM* prolly would have made a world of difference. Not an attorney, maybe a call to one would be worth the $100 the 15 minute conversation would cost.

LOL, I was just thinking... Instead of "no commenting" when asked about it Dick Cheney said it made him feel good to say it. I wonder how good he feels about pics of his mug and "Go fuck yourself" on T-shirts all across the country?:1orglaugh

Then again, they'd probably turn it around as another example of insane liberals:thumbsup

In the VP's wifes interview on CNN this morning, they brought up an old (2003) clip of Andrew Card commenting on an interview Kerry did for Rolling Stone where he said the word "fuck". Card said he wanted Kerry to apologize, at least to himself and that such words were beneath a US Senator.
Of course the VP's wife laughed off her own husbands comment saying that he was stressed about a personal attack on his integrity. She justified it like a good VP's wife should.

Incidently, I wrote an email to the show at the email address they provide for comment. The email bounced saying recipient not found. So I forwarded it to the address exactly as shown on the screen. bounced again. So I emailed the postmaster at turner dot com for an explanation.

Perhaps they censor and bounce emails like mine. Fuckers.
