I just spent 4 hours to remove a malware that was injected in my PC through Opera.
I ran countless spyware removal programs, finally when I tried AD-Aware for the 3rd time, it picked up a file that was in the Opera tmp files, that file was injected 3 days ago. When I opened it, it contained references first to Opera then to IE :(
When you browse http://www.spywareinfo.com/ , you will see a mention to this malware.
I have only used Opera to see what the fuss was all about, I now want to remove Opera, but that damn malware has erased the Install.log file, as when you remove Opera, you also remove the spyware...
So that you know, that malware first blocks you from your internet options through IE, when you get to your internet options in the control panel, the home page is grayed out and cannot be changed, you are able to remove the registry value for the home page, but it comes back right away.
That malware works by steps, I caught it in its 2nd or 3rd step, I'd hate to see what its final aim is...
