Pop-up blockers and the future of Per Sign-up Programs
With the increase in pop-up blockers (especially when XP service pack 2 is released) will sponsors decrease payouts for per signup?
Many sponsors offer higher payouts for pop-up tours versus no pop-up tours. If the number of pop-ups dramatically decreases do you think sponsors will remove this option? |
Per sign will just gradually shift to be lower payout. It may make revshare more competitive.

We have never liked spawning entry and exit consoles so that is why we have always had only 1 exit console. I think spawning popups has become a huge annoyance so would not surprised if popups are gone someday all together.

There was a lot of commotion about this several months back when they first really started to hit the market. I don't know of any sponsors offhand that have dropped pay-outs yet solely because of the pop-up issue.
I guess we'll see what happens. This thread will be full of "the sky is falling" posts though. |
i believe many payouts will remain the same
a lot of strong PPS programs use their own paysites in the exits/consoles which they give credit to affiliate. This will translate to no loss of income for them. |

no they wont, in these cases the popups and exits are not more than an extra opportunity for both the affiliate and program to make money. If a surfer gets a membership from an exit console the affiliate will still get paid lets say $35. No difference. Of course there are still many PPS programs that trade exits/consoles with other paysites.
