media player 9 password prompt
 

Does any know why media player 9 prompts for a username and password each I click a movie link? It never asks for it when I right click and save as, but when I try to play the mpeg file as it downloads it always asks for a username and pass. Any way to solve this?

i bet this is only when you try to stream online.

if so fill in the user and pass.

I'm aware of DRM but I'm looking for a quick registry hack or hidden setting that gets rid of the annoying prompt. Does DRM even work on MPEGS ?

You are right it's only when I try and stream it, but I'm already logged into the site so why does it ask for a username and pass on every movie I try and stream?

It is kind of like a double protection thing to make sure whomever is in your site has a password and will have to put it in to see a video. This is what I was told.

Are you closing the player each time and then clicking on a new movie?

If you close it each time, the next movie you click has to authenticate again.
