Any accounting professionals in here??
Major career dilemma for me. If you are one or have been one in the past, you've been there before. Audit or Tax?
thanks!!! |
call a accountant in your area and say you have some questions. Can I buy a hour of your time?
|
Audit worked for me, as it gave me more rounded experience in different industries, business practices, etc. which helped me move into private industry management.
Tax is great if your goal is to stay in the accounting field. Some big money there, especially if you continue on with a law degree. Just my :2 cents: Good luck! |

I graduated in '92. I think back then it was the Big 7, though I can't remember exactly. Only worked for a small firm, then went into private industry.
I got started in the adult business in about '97 after reading an article in USA Today about Persian Kitty...if I remember correctly, in the article it said she is a CPA as well. Now I'm working with a startup outsourcing/contact center in the Philippines, having a great time! How did you get involved in the adult business? |
Rockdude, one of my buddies from school has an accounting outsourcing company here in the Philippines. BPO does really well.

I did 4 years with a big4 co in Audit. Basically you work a heck of a lot harder in Audit and the work can be more boring initially, however it opens up a heck of a lot of opportunities in industry, banking, private practice etc. Tax is a bit more confining - although tax consulting is a damn big industry in itself.
IMHO being qualified in either sets up with a good qualification that you can always be guaranteed to make a decent living off. |
What's up with the big Bush/Cheney Banner?
Do you know what they want to do with this industry? And you're promoting them here? Can't believe what I'm seeing. :1orglaugh |
