Caffeine is scam. Proof inside

I've been a caffeine addict for almost a decade. Well i'm on the 10th day or so without drinking any coffe or taking any supplements containg caffeine and I noticed the following:

I dont get sleepy like I was expecting
I can focus on work much easier
I don't feel nervous
Training seems to work better without having any caffeine in your body. I'm a bit biased on this since it's an advice I got from my trainer, but I'm getting the impression he is right.

You can do it too!

I quit smoking 4 years ago, I drink on occasion only now..

I think I'll keep my caffeine addiction.

But thanks for the tips :winkwink:

Caffeine has never done anything for me except speed up my heart. I drink caffeinated products because I like the product itself, regardless of whether or not it has caffeine.

I can't live without my Mountain Dew! Though I am trying to cut back, down to 1-2 cans a day instead of my previous 3-4. Drinking Capri Sun and Snapple now for a little variety. Oh, and beer... been drinking more beer lately.

When I cut out the caffeine and drink tons of water I feel much more alert and focused...

But when I sleep 3 or 4 hours max, I gotta have some heavy fucking stimulants. :(

myjah 07-09-2004 08:28 PM

generally I dont drink coffee...I have enough bad habits

Spunky 07-09-2004 08:31 PM

1 cup per day for me..In the morning with a smoke

Theo 07-09-2004 08:49 PM

i dont think we have Mountain Dew and Capri Sun, unless i havent discovered them

1/day spunky is still good :)

I can't make it a day without caffeine, I get a really bad headache when I try- anyone else get this?

Theo 07-09-2004 09:25 PM

ha! i had headaches too the first days but i didnt connect it to caffeine interruption till now. The first 4-5 days are the hardest, after that you won't have problem i believe.

PrivateIvy 07-09-2004 09:27 PM

I was a serious caffeine addict on mountain dew for years.

I gave it up last year..only drink water, or sprite /diet sprite

Here's what happened

After the first week of major headaches ( withdrawl) I felt much better, more myself, no anxiety and on top of things

I lost 8 pounds the first month ( caffeine makes you retain fluids and all the sugar in Mt Dew was no good either )

I had major dental work because the years of Mt Dew ate the enamel off my teeth.

If I were one of those crazy law suit people, I'd sue the makers of Mt Dew for distributing the product with no warning about the effects of caffeine , it's addictiveness etc.

But....I'm just glad to be off the stuff

:thumbsup

Coka-Cola is usually the first thing I consume in the morning:glugglug

Half the problem people here are talking about isn't the fault of caffeine, but the way it's being consumed.

Try drinking green tea instead of whatever colas, coffees or other random sodium-laden things that you come across if you want to get the benefits of caffeine without a lot of the common side-effects. Plus it might just help save your life with antioxidants and cancer surpressing agents. :2 cents:

caffiene and ephedrine is one of the best energy combo's out there. there's a reason the ECA stack is so popular, even amound gear users. it simply works.

obviously too much of a good thing is bad, but for working out caffiene helps a ton. it was also part of the best energy drink known to man before ephedrine got banned.

the thing with caffeine is that it ramps you up so you feel good/awake whatever then you start to come down off it so you start to feel drowsy and you have more caffiene and ramp back up.

I know a lot of people that are like zombies until they have a couple of cups of coffee in the morning and they are always tired. When you cut caffiene out of your life completly you no longer have the highs and lows and your body no longer thinks it's tired when it's not. It really is no diffent than being addicted to anything else. I used to work nights at a job and drank a ton of coffee and was always tired and blamed it on my long hours. There was one guy there that would drink a 2 liter of mt dew every night. Then I cut out all caffiene and the first week sucked bad I had headaces was tired etc. Then after about 10 days or so I got used to it and things started evening out. Now it's 7 years later I hardly every drink anything with caffiene. I have much more energy, when I wake up in the morning I'm not groggy and tired and I feel 100% better than the old days.

That's probably not due to caffeine, it's a diuretic (causes you to lose fluids) and it's an appetite suppressant.

I'd blame that on all the sugar for lack of anything else to blame it on.
