N Korea prepares for war against US

Now that we know that Iraq was based on BS ( well, a lot of us knew that from the start), the US will start a new diversion tactic:

N Korea prepares for war against US

* Accuses Washington of planning attack against it

SEOUL: North Korea?s defence chief urged soldiers on Thursday to step up combat preparations, denouncing the United States for plotting an attack on the communist country.

The order was contained in a speech made by Defence Minister Kim Il-Chol to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of former North Korean president Kim Il-Sung. ?The service-persons will increase the combat capability and step up the combat preparations in every way under the uplifted slogan of a-match-for-a hundred (a soldier capable of beating 100 enemy soldiers) to defend as firm as an iron wall the socialist motherland,? he said.

The defence minister accused Washington of stepping up ?preparations for a war of aggression behind the curtain of the six-party talks.? North Korea is ready to mobilise its ?military deterrent force built up for years ... and accomplish the historic cause of national reunification without fail,? he said.

North Korea regularly accuses the United States of plotting a surprise attack on the Stalinist state.

...

Pyongyang has accused the United States of fabricating evidence of its nuclear capabilities, drawing parallels with its failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. North Korea beefed up its combat readiness after the US-led invasion of Iraq, fortifying military facilities and digging new tunnels, according to a South Korean report Wednesday.

US wouldnt wanna invade N Korea. Many many US soldiers would be lost.

Roger 07-09-2004 11:19 AM

North Korea accuses the US of planning an attack against it quite often.

NK is different than Iraq. Iraq was BS and everyone knows that.

The US have actual evidence about NK's programs. Maybe you don't know it, but the US have satellite technology that can see underground labs and technology that analyzes air samples to detect whenever a country is developing WMD's. Unlike with Saddam, they have actual evidence and NK didn't deny it.

It's pretty much impossible for anyone to hide such programs, except for Saddam of course :)

Chichio 07-09-2004 11:22 AM

You're quoting a news story reporting on what the North Korean government says about US military preparations for war. Did you ride the short bus to school? These guys will say anything to their people that will divert their attention from the fact that they are starving to death.

Sagitta 07-09-2004 11:26 AM

The US needs war.

In response to the thread title...North Korea as been preparing for war with the US since the cease fire agreement was signed in 1953...nothing new about that.

And so fucking what? The US has WMD too. What makes them think they can have them and any other country can't? Does Bush thinks he is God or something?

Did you read the article before posting it? This article contains no statements made by US government officials. It talks about the rhetoric the North Koreans are feeding their starving people instead of food. If they are busy hating an enemy that they believe is about to invade, they won?t notice that their stomachs are empty. This tactic is taught in Dictatorship 101. Weird, I guess all evil DOESN?T originate in the US?go figure. :)

DWB 07-09-2004 11:54 AM

That fucker is just crazy enough to use all the WMD he has. I would not want to go to war with North Korea.

No, I'm just saying that in this case the Bush admin is actually telling the truth for once.

Yes, actually, we invented them. Then, the whole world got together and said: "Hey, we should probably stop the entire world from getting these weapons because it will surely be the end." So, along comes North Korea, completely poor because their Stalinist government has destroyed their economy. They decide to develop these WMDs to sell to the highest bidder to keep their tyranical asses in power. Shouldn't something be done about a threat to the world like that? Yes, the world should do something about it, not just the US. I usually don't say things like this but sometimes it seems like the US and UK are the only countries that have grown a pair of balls. I don't really agree with the war in Iraq but the North Koreas are a real threat to the WORLD.

Yeah I can be heavy. Not thick though, just a different point of view I guess.

More specifically, it's been a non-stop diatribe since the 1950's.
That's how Lil Kim keeps control of his people. He tells them there is a CONSTANT threat of invasion by the U.S.

And he's got one big fucking army that would overrun South Korea in a sec. The ONLY way the U.S. could possibly stop them would be with atomic weapons. Something we DO NOT want to do because then all hell breaks out.

Our military is taxed to the breaking point now thanks to Iraq.
Despite all the keyboard warriors who say "NUKE EM", there are too many down sides to that for that to possibly happen.

North Korea is just spouting off again, and frankly, I don't pay much attention to them..though I think the problem needs to be solved. but right now at least, it ain't going to be militarily.

It's in everyones interest to put their hand down on countries like N. Korea trying to build a nuclear arsenol.
Do you think Japan feels comfortable in this situation?

The EU is busy trying to negotiate a deal with Iran to abandon it's nuclear program and The US, China and Japan are busy with NK about the same issue.

I think there's a chance with NK but I don't see Iran giving in because unlike NK they don't have a huge military.

UN trying to do the same with Israel ( possible 200 nukes: they don't confirm or infirm that they possess them ).

Well, yeah.. He would be able to invade Seoul quite easily in a matter of hours and kill hundreds of thousands of civilians. But he would lose the war one way or another. His technology is not superior enough. Although his army would not give up easily, when Koreans fight they fight until death and even more..

We know he has biological and chemical weapons. He could strike in S-Korea, Japan.. And with the Taepong-2 technology, even the U.S. west coast.

Starting a war would be suicide for him.

Kim Jong-Il is not that dumb.

KRL 07-09-2004 01:03 PM

To be honest, I think this one would go exactly like Iraq. A few months or years of the commies getting displaced from their cushy govt. jobs would all be throwing a hissy fit and we'd just keep bombing the main leadership locations till the peasants all join in the rebellion once they see their is nothing to fear in the way of reprisals anymore.

Sami 07-09-2004 01:05 PM

US has nothing to gain out of attacking north korea.. so it will never be done.

North korea doesn't have oil!

Manowar 07-09-2004 01:08 PM

Samis right, North Korea would have to be the ones to start it - USA have nothing to gain, no oil.

Rob 07-09-2004 01:09 PM

North Korea mobilizes for war against South Korea and the United States about 4 times a year! It's not a big deal and we're not going to war with North Korea.

I lived in Seoul for 8 years and we always got "Elevated Alert" status because North Korea was moving SCUDS and troops closer to the DMZ. They are just beating their chests, nothing more. Everyone can settle down, there's no oil in North Korea.

yeah where are the WMD?

think they could use this shit to scour the desert?

sounds easy from a control panel in the US.

Bigwilly 07-09-2004 01:21 PM

we wont attack north korea unless we find some large oil deposits there :)

Shok 07-09-2004 01:24 PM

hey I know.....someone should say something stupid about oil again. That would be original.
