Does anyone use DRM systems on there films, or is it not worth bothering with?

I checked out a couple different paysites last month. I like to do that from time to time to see what people are doing.

That DRM on videos in the members area is reeeeeally annoying from a surfing perspective. Have to keep entering your friggin name and password. Then wait.. and hope it works.

I read it was easy to remove the DRM from films.

Also does DRM work with all film players?

I am not 100% sure if DRM is a good idea or not.

No you pretty much have to use Media Player.

I think people that put DRM on their movies really are missing the bigger picture.

Most users are stupid, and this whole DRM thing confuses and pisses them off.

Then you went to a site using a company that is doing it WRONG! There is NO reason why a user should EVER be prompted for their u/p more than once during a billing cycle. We encourage our clients to set it up so that they enter the u/p once and can then play ANY of the members area content for that billing period without being prompted again WHETHER or not they are online.

Um nope...plus it creates rebills and new signups. We have proven this with too many clients for that to be the case.

DRM is just at the beginning at the moment but it is definitely the way to go forwards. :2 cents:

Maybe you should be asking how much longer should I continue to lose money? If you are not protecting your vidoes with some sort of DRM encryption, then you are in essence not making as much as you should be. Many webmasters are intrigued with the fact that DRM can give them a sence of protection for what is rightfully theirs. But it doesn't stop their. DRM encryption combined with proper marketing can prove to be quite profitable.
