Has anyone ever bought a subscription to familysearch or ancestry.com or rootsweb? I have traced one of my sides back to the 1500's in England and I was wondering if those subcriptions are valuable. Anyone have luck with other sites?

I've traced my family back to the 11th century on one side, but found that my subscription to ancestry.com was priceless in finding the other side of the maternal ancestry, (since I have no idea about who my real father was, I can't check that side of the family).
You might give it a go. I didn't realize that there were so many other people looking for the same stuff I was, and I got to meet some distant cousins. Fun times! :thumbsup |
Tala did you try any other subcriptions or just ancestry? I am trying to get the most bang for my buck.

My half sister bought a membership to familysearch and found a ton of information on her dad's side of the family in very little time. She is still a member as far as I know and with no complaints. :thumbsup |
