Fucking Vegas Gave Me Asthma

Yep...just got back from the doctor...due to poor air quality, dust etc I have asthma.

Never had it in my life, but for some reason I had been unable to get rid of a cough I had for about 3 months straight and now they've got me on all kinds of inhalers and pills.

Well, atleast they found it pretty quickly. :) Advair works really well for asthma if you have not tried it yet.

I have been fighting with doctors the last 15 years to treat my asthma. I guess some doctors can't figure out you don't always wheeze to have asthma..

txl 07-08-2004 04:29 PM

at least thats the only disease you got from vegas

touretts 07-08-2004 04:30 PM

i had asthma before i moved out here, but since then i havent had to use my medicine.

Big Cheese 07-08-2004 05:30 PM

Get Singulair. That medicine works great. Expensive if you don't have insurance though.

I was born with asthma, but it's actually disappeared in recent years. The last time I had a rought time was in FL with the humidity... Go figure!

SykkBoy 07-08-2004 08:44 PM

Welcome to the heavy breather's club.

Mine started not too long after the Dunes implosion (in hindsight, going to watch them demolish the Dunes in person and being literally across the street, probably wasn't the best idea in the world)

keyboard warrior 07-08-2004 09:39 PM

bring a humidifier next time with a co2 bottle.

Maybe at the next Vegas Webmaster Dinner, the breathing challenge can sit around playing "pass the puffer"

AMADude 07-08-2004 09:47 PM

Seriously, take your son in and get him checked. Mine are fine so far, but everytime they have a cold that gets into their chest, I take them to the doctor. I never ha asthma growing up. Then I caught bronchitis and that turned into bronchial pnuemonia and one day I went to get the mail and almost didn't make it back up to my apartment.

Between the dust in the air, the pollution and all of the tourists bringing in their various ailments and spreading them through the casinos, you can't be too careful.

Agreed. I keep my five year old son home from school on the really bad days as the dumbass teachers still let them play outside.

That sucks:( It took me about 6 months to get used to the weather here in Vegas, and I was constantly sniffling, but finally I've adjusted. The smoke in the casinos/restaurants here kills me though.
